In 2018, she made history by becoming the first woman from her country to win a World Series of Poker Bracelet in Las Vegas, USA.
Her burgeoning poker career comprises multiple noteworthy Final Tables as well as five major titles - many of them being in large fields of 2000 entries or more. With various cashes around Asia and internationally, she has ranked first in the Global Poker Index amongst India’s female poker players every year since she went pro.
Nikita has studied under some of the top coaches in the world, including being one of only 20 people selected for the coveted “Raise Your Edge” bootcamp - where she even won the tough bootcamp finale Sit n’ Go.
She has previously served as the COO of Poker Sports League in India and is former Captain and Mentor of Team Mumbai Anchors where she led her team to finish in 2nd place. She has also represented India as Captain of Team India at the WPT Global Teams event held in Incheon, South Korea where they battled 14 international teams.
Nikita started playing poker on the Zynga poker app back in 2010 and found herself spending a couple of hours studying the game every day. But it was at a friend’s birthday party that she first played a live game and ended up winning the entire pot. The rest, as they say, is history.
As a self-professed maths geek, poker’s complex and mathematical approach fascinates Nikita and she decided to pursue poker as a full-time career. She is the only professional poker player in India to have been invited to give a TEDx talk. Through her formidable successes, she hopes to pave the way for women in the male-dominated sport.
